CEO Message on Quality

Thank you.


For being there at early morning meetings and for working late into the night.


For suggesting new methods and mastering new machines. For enduring the frustration of a new way that didn’t work. For sticking with it.


For standing up and speaking out.  For leaning forward and listening. For taking the chance to trust, to empower, to try.


And for doing it all, day after day.


Your work has paid off. The quality and durability of our cars and trucks has improved in recent years, and we are making great strides as shown by our own internal and independent outside measurements. 


You’ve already seen that improvement where you work. Inside this publication, you’ll see how your own experience fits into the bigger picture of a corporation that has redirected itself to making the world’s greatest cars and trucks.


But our work isn’t done yet. You’re expecting that I’ll tell you we’ve got to continue making improvements in our product quality. And I will. You already know quality is a moving target and we have to keep adjusting our aim. We can get better. You can bet our competition will be trying.


I’m asking for your help in a more urgent way. Although our quality has improved, a good number of our potential customers either don’t know it or don’t believe it. And that’s costing us sales. So, this is what I’m asking: Please take the message of our improved quality to the people you know.


You’ve heard it before and it’s still true – if every one of our employees could convince one person to buy one of our vehicles, it could generate hundreds of thousands of sales. I believe if our people share the word about our improved quality, those sales will come.


This special issue features the first in a series of advertisements soon to launch. It’s one way we are sharing the facts regarding our improved quality to our customers.
